Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University are jointly launching an ICT Platform with embedded Intelligent Teaching Management System (ITMS) developed with support from Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) for the benefit of the students and teachers of affiliating/associated colleges.
This platform uses proprietary learning augmentation technology incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). This platform will enable both students and faculty to enhance their coding skills, provide access to industry-oriented ICT contents developed by domain experts, enable summer internships, assess students ICT skills, provide blended learning support and virtual lab management for faculty.

Electronics & ICT Academy (E & ICT Academy) at IIT Kanpur has been mandated to provide industry focused and industry-driven, hands-on courses in Electronics & ICT. It strives to narrow the gap between the academic approach to Electronics & ICT domains as currently provided by the educational institutions and the practically oriented approach as demanded by the industry. It is working towards enhancing the domain expertise of interested faculties with a special focus on the faculties of the three northern states of U.P., Haryana, Punjab and the two union territories of Delhi and Chandigarh, through a continuous engagement model with courses upgraded regularly.

Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU)(formerly UPTU) was established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh, vide Act Amendment No. 1156(2) LXXIX-V-1-15-1(Ka), 24-2015 dated Sept 9, 2015 Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 23 of 2000. Under the University Act, 'Technical Education' includes programmes of education, research and training in Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Pharmacy, Applied Arts & Crafts and such other programmes and areas that the central Government may in consultation with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) by notification in Gazette declare.
